CCS/CC2640R2F: CC26402F memory size being enough for 2nd image

Hi,

I have a general question regarding to CC2640R2F BLE Wireless MCU memory size, according to the datasheet, it mentions that there is 275KB of Nonvolatile Memory Including 128KB of In-System Programmable Flash available, if the project supports the OTA, and customer services, would the memory is enough for ota access to store 2nd image? What's ble stack size with the latest BLE sdk?

Hi grace,

Is is technically possible, but if you want any useful application in both images then it is not realistically possible. The CC2640R2F does support on-chip OAD by using a minimal persistent application to perform the OAD procedure while the main application is OAD free, but if you want two separate images then using an external flash is recommend.

This depends on how big your current application size is and how big the other image is.
We do have example for onchip OAD on CC2640R2 simple_peripheral which can be find in the SimpleLink SDK.
