CC2541: BTools error - GAP Device Initialization Timeout

Part Number: CC2541

Hi I am using CC2541 BLE module (HM-10 ), I flashed HostTest code on this module by using CC debugger but when i connected it with my PC using serial port and Btool > I am getting this error

GAP Device Initialization Timeout.

Device May Not Function Properly.

Make sure you use correct UART pins first.

In addition to YiKai's suggestion, sometimes it helps to reset the board and reopening the device in BTool,

Please let us know if either of those work!

I suggest you to set a breakpoint on the line "HalUARTInit();" in your HostTest project and debug to see if it hits first.

Any updates?

Other steps you can take are to flash the board with simple_peripheral example and try to connect with your phone.

Hi Ammar NeK37,

I flashed it with the simpleBLEPeripheral example, and tried to connect it with BLE Scanner with my phone. But it is not getting connect, it shows always connection fail and then Disconnected.

please I need help

What version of the sdk are you using? Which cell phone (running what Android/iOS version) are you using?

I am using BLE-CC254x-1.4.2.2, and I am using Android phone with android oreo 8.1.

Can you provide a sniffer log? This will help us find out why the connection is being disconnected.

If you can, try a different phone or try to connect to the device using host_test (will require a separate launchpad).
