CC2640R2F: Difference between flashing through Flash Programmer 2 and Uniflash in case of OAD

Part Number: CC2640R2F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi,

I have an application with support for On-chip OAD built using SimpleLink CC2640R2 SDK version 2_30_00_28 and CCS-8.2.0.0.

The documentation section "Setting up the BLE OAD Environment" instructs to use "Uniflash" as the flash programming tool. Prior to this, we were using "Smart RF Flash Programmer 2".

I am using python tool "hexmerge" to combine the 4 images (BIM, Persistent, Stack, Application) to create production image as said in (https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth/f/538/t/682423?CC2640R2F-How-to-combine-onchip-OAD-fourth-file-to-one-file-for-downloading-easily-
