CC2652R: No connection to CC2652R with XDS100v3

Hi,

I have a custom board as shown in the picture below and try to flash it with an XDS100v3 (embest).

As explained in the this thread, the 14-pin JTAG-connector has no nRST pin:

Connecting my board's reset pin (nRESET) to T_SRTST_N on the XDS100 is also not working. (see the XDS100 schematics on second picture)

In CCS, I get this error:

SC_ERR_SCAN_POLL_BUSY

Flash Programmer 2 could not detect the target device.

With the oscilloscope I can't see any signal on the T_SRTST_N and T_TRST_N lines.

I tried this with 3 different boards.

How to connect XDS100v3 via TI-14 to CC26xx devices? Has anybody done this successfully?

It looks like you have used a 10 pin connector on your custom board. How do you connect the 14 pin header to the 10 pin header? Are you able to use the 20 pin header since this has the correct reset signal according to the threads you point to?

You write that you don't see a signal on the selected reset signal. Does that mean that the signal is either constant low or high?

I use wire connector cables and a 20-to-10 JTAG adapter. I already checked the connection between the boards for every pin.

The reset is constant high (because of pullup on my custom board.

Is it this one you have: www.embest-tech.com/prod_view.aspx ? In that case, does it support CM4?

Could you send a link to where you found the schematic for the XDS100v3 (the screenshot you have posted is not possible to read)

Yes, I use exactly this device.

About support of Cortex-M4, I'm not sure, because there's no documentation from embest.

In general TI-XDS100 supports M4, but embest don't give any information about their clone.

Maybe Ti shoud not recommend XDS100 for CC26xx, as on this page:

I will try it with XDS110 on the launchpad tomorrow.

- You are referring to a reference design for XDS100v2 while you are using XDS100v3. Also how do you know if the reference design reflects the schematic for the Embest device?

- XDS100v3, at least our implementation, supports CC26xx (SmartRF06 uses XDS100v3). But you have to check with Embest if their product support CC26xx.

With XDS110 everthing works perfectly.
For everybody who has a similar problem: Don't try to use the embest XDS100v3 with CC26xx !! Just use the Lauchpad.
