CC2564MODN: Keyboard lock indicator LED's not working when connected to Android

Do, you mean the Host is not sending the DATA report after the Caps, Num, Scroll locks are are sent in HID_Report? Do, you have air or HCI sniffer logs to compare between Windows Host and Android hosts?

Yes, Android hosts are not sending DATA reports after lock key presses are sent to the host. I don't have any sniffer logs, I just have the serial trace showing the event callbacks for the DATA reports from Windows hosts, and no callbacks for Android hosts. Other than the lack of DATA reports for the LED status from the Android hosts, the traces look the same.

Hello there.  We have purchased off the shelf keyboards that pair and work properly with our Android devices.. so it seems likely the CC2564MODN is the culprit (or at least could be fixed to support this).  

As an additional piece of information - CAPS LOCK works correctly on iOS devices, but SCROLL LOCK and NUM LOCK do not. 

CAPS LOCK is the more important one to fix, as we could potentially handle NUM LOCK separately, and nobody really uses SCROLL LOCK.  In our case, we require the NUM LOCK LED code response so the keyboard can handle local translation of special function keys.

Ok.. Actually the logger logs would n't help much here, as the HID data goes on ACL channels.. Which, host are you using? Is it possible to reproduce this issue with SDK's HID demo? If so, please provide the instruction.. Taking HCI logs would be helpful. Please take a look at this application note..

  We will attempt to reproduce this with the SDK HID demo on a dev board and capture the HCI logs.  

  Our board is otherwise using an MSP430 MCU with the latest version of the stack and service pack.

Ok, well we've stripped anything IP-related as I didn't see a secure link come in. Here is a download link for the 7MB project. There is a readme explaining how the project is built and what dev boards to use and what it does.

Bluetooth: CC2564MODN-EM
IDE: CCS 7.2

Switches and LED usage:

Button S1 puts the device in pairable mode for about 3 minutes.
Button S2 simulates a Caps Lock key press.
5 way switch SW2 simulates "A" through "E" key presses.
LED1 indicates Caps Lock.
LED2 indicates Num Lock.


Project notes:

The debug target is the one that was most tested.

When connected to a Windows host, the Caps Lock key will toggle the Caps Lock mode and
toggle LED1.
When connected to an Android host, Caps Lock mode will toggle but the indicator LED does not toggle.

  Just checking if you'd made any progress.  We're still stuck and unable to proceed with the product launch.   We've tested a number of off the shelf bluetooth products that do not suffer from this problem, so it does appear to be CC2564 related.  Without stack source there's just not more we can do at this point to troubleshoot it ourselves.

I am having difficulties to build the project you provided.. It seems, i need to use a different compiler version.. My work space and environment is set for MSP432 and other 32 bit host processors, so building and bringing up on MSP430 is taking longer.. I will get back later today.. Sorry for the delay.,
