RTOS/CC2640R2F: Communication Design - Server and Client.

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi everyone!

GAP Roles and GATT Roles aren't fixed, central or peripheral  can be design as a server, client or both.

If the central and peripheral need to actively exchange data, is there four possible ways? Any suggestions?

1.Central as a client , peripheral as a server :

  • Central client  uses "WRITE" to peripheral server.
  • Peripheral server uses "NOTIFY" to central client.

2.Central as a server , peripheral as a client :

  • Peripheral client uses "WRITE" to central server.
  • Central server uses "NOTIFY" to peripheral client.

3.Central as server and client, peripheral as client and server  :

3.1 The central client writes to the peripheral server, the peripheral client writes to the central server.

3.2 The central server notifies to the peripheral client, the peripheral server notifies to the central client.

Thank you.
