CC2541: Difference between BLE "Characteristic Declaration" and "Client Characteristic Configuration"

Hello,

I am new to BLE and getting hand on CC2541 SimpleBLEPeripheral. I have a basic queries on BLE.

"Characteristic Properties" of "Characteristic Declaration" with UUID 0x2803 has Read, Write, Notify and Indicate. At the same time "Client Characteristic Configuration" Descriptor (CCCD) with UUID 0x2902 too has Notify and Indication.

What is the difference between both Notify and Indication in 0x2803 and 0x2902.

Hi Vishnu,
Indication require the receiving device to acknowledge on application layer (response delayed to next connection event), Notification does not and thus increases the throughput.

I understand the difference between Notification and Indication. But I am trying to understand Notification in UUID 0x2803 and Notification in UUID 0x2902.

Hi Vishnu,
UUID 0x2803 is the actual characteristic containing two attributes; Data Attribute (Custom UUID: where your data is located) and the Client Characteristic Configuration Attribute (UUID 0x2902: which allows you to enable notification or indication for the data attribute).
