CC2540: cc2540 bluetooth certification issue.

Part Number: CC2540

I have bluetooth sig certification to do using cc2540. So I have to connect RF tester to UART pins.

I have been trying to use BLE-CC254x-1.4.2.2 bluetooth stack accessory CC2540_SmartRF_HostTestRelease_All.hex  with btool (v. 1.40.15) provided.

However I am not getting any responses from target hardware.

I been swapping uart RX/TX lines so both configurations are tried.

This is old Nokia custom hardware which has been certified before and there are some end-of-line components to be updated so the need for new certification although cc2540 is the same.

I was wondering whether hardware flow control is mandatory ? Unfortunately those pins are unavailable .

Or is there anything else I have missed here ?

Is there readymade hex - file under directory accessories/hexfiles to use USB as a UART ?

CC2540_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_All.hex seems promising . Will that work for this purpose ?
