CC2640R2F: Reading the profiler register

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience in reading the Profiler Register that is available via the JTAG TEST TAP for the CC2640R2F? Specifically, I would like to be able to read out the RF core state.

The CCFG settings for my project indicate that the TEST TAP should be available.

I am using IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, v8.22.2 and I'm using an IAR iJet debugger. I am connecting to the device using cJTAG.

Hey John,

Have you tried using 4 wires? From Section 5.9 of the TRM, it looks like you are unable to use cJTAG to extract information from the Profiler Register. Let me confirm this with the subject matter expert and I'll get back to you.

Thanks for your reply.

I have not tried the 4-wire interface: our particular design only supports cJTAG presently.

I would be interested to know how to read the profiler register in either 2 or 4-wire interface modes.

We have not tested this from our side. I recommend you reach out to IAR and ask them if this is possible.
