Helo,

I want to take data from ECG sensor and then send it to computer using CC 2540 usb dongle. How we can configure CC 2540 usb dongle as Bluetooth device?. Is there any sample program in which CC 2540 usb dongle is configured as Bluetooth device for sending and receiving data.

There is no dedicated example for CC2540 USB dongle and application. I suppose you can do this based on BLE-STACK 1.4.2 example such as BloodPressure example.

Thank YiKai Chen. Actually in my system i have to take ECG from sensor and then send it using CC 2540 dongles acting as peripheral to another CC 2540 usb dongle working as central device. I was wondering how to communication these dongles in this configuration.

I suppose you can implement BLE peripheral to read ECG from sensor on one of your CC2540 USB dongle and run HostTest on another CC2540 USB dongle with Btool to act as BLE central to get data from ECG sensor.

Is it possible to communicate two dongles in central and peripheral role while one having Simple BLE peripheral and other having Host test release program? Because when i load Simple Ble peripheral program into usb dongle, Btool doesn't recognizes it.

Yes, it is no problem to communicate two dongles in central and peripheral role while one having Simple BLE peripheral and other having Host test release program. Btool can only recognize CC2540 USB dongle running with HostTest FW.

I want to ask one more question. If we load USB dongle with Simple BLE peripheral program, then which sofware we can use to check whether usb dongles is receiving data from sensor or not. Is there any Btool like option available?.

I don't know what interface your ECG sensor uses so I don't know how to answer your question about whether usb dongles is receiving data from sensor or not.

Hello Syed,
We dont release source for applications as BTool, but there might be some resources mentioned in this thread:
e2e.ti.com/.../70022

I believe it is possible to configure CC2540 Hosttest device as peripheral with BTool. Then you can modify the Hosttest project application to add custom functionality and or profile/services. It would require some effort.
