CC2640R2F: Application consultation

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Hi,

I have some question on using CC2640R2F.

The product uses a battery and requires low power consumption. After the Bluetooth pairing is successful, the Bluetooth chip is in standby or even powered off.
When there is an event trigger, it is required to quickly establish a Bluetooth link connection and send data from the disconnected state, requiring connection and sending data within 30 milliseconds.

Can this chip satisfy such applications?

thanks.

  • Hi,
That's going to be very hard, if even impossible. Unless you need encryption, I suppose you could send the information in the advertisement packet.. It would still be difficult with 30ms unless the central has 100% scanning duty cycle.

If you could stretch the requirement to 100ms, it's another story.
  • Hi J,

    thank you for your reply,
In addition, I would like to consult you.
Suppose I let the Bluetooth stay on,
Let it be maintained in a low-power condition
Is there a way to reach a reaction time of 30mS?
If so, what is his power consumption?

Or do you have any product suggest can keep this requirement?

    thanks.

  • Hi,
Then it's no problem as BLE minimum connection interval is 7.5ms (not towards phones though, it's more like 32ms).
