RTOS/CC2650: ANdroid "SimpleLink SDK Explorer" is not working for OAD

Thanks for mentioning android version and mobile phone.

The "SimpliLink SDK Explorer" app is meant to be used with the MSP430 MCUs, try using the SimpleLink Starter app for the cc2650.

I've tried SimpleLink Starter already.

However, it only allow firmware from the server(Factory FW) as I captured beow.  I need to update a firmware in the hadset to the sensortag cc2650.

Because I could not upload firmware to TI server, I think this is no use for most of users.

Only below FW is allowed for update. I think this is nonsense. Why user could not select a FW file from the handset?

Thank you for the feedback.

Just follow your guide, I can transfer My Image file with iPhone version.

However, I could not duplicate it with any android phone.

Actully, we could not select firmware binary on my handset.

The difference between iphone and android occur in the below screen shot.  (Which is very big portion of this application. I think without this feature OAD is no use for most of the case.)

Sorry to hear you couldn't successfully duplicate this on an android phone.
On your android phone, please try to open the folder in which your image is located (on some sort of file explorer for android), and using the "Open with" functionality which exists on most android phones. It should show you the TI application there, from which you should be able to upload the image.

I've tried various Samsung, LG mobile for this test with your guideline.

But, I found this is not working.

Only iPhone do the right job with the guideline.

Please let us know how to approach this issue.

Thanks for your  patience.

I verified with our mobile apps SW engineer and he confirmed that feature to upload an arbitrary hex file does not currently have support on android.
This is meant to be added in the future but is currently supported solely on iOS devices.
