BOOSTXL-AOA: Antenna arrays geometry

Hi,

I would use the intersection of two arrays AOA in order to estimate X,Y position of the tag. In BOOSTXL-AOA the distance between the two arrays is about 40 mm.

Is it possible to design my custom board increasing the distance between the two arrays and reduce intersection error? Please, look at an extreme example in the picture, just to explain my issue.

Hi Luca,
Keeping in mind that you have to keep the distance between the antennas within the wave length, it should be completely possible to distance the antenna arrays to whatever distance you need.

It means:

Distance between antennas in the array shoud be within the wavelenght.
Distance between arrays as I wish

Is it possible to use both Angle of arrival technique to estimate direction of tag and, at the same time, ToF tecnhique to estimate distance so to obtain a X,Y position?

Hi Luca,
Correct, the distances should correspond to what you summarized above.
Development for including both AoA & ToF on the same device is planned for the near future but is not currently supported.
