Hi,

From last 3 months i am working on CC2650 5x5 32pin chip on my custom board but now due to memory limitations i want to switch to CC2640r2f(5x5) 32 pin.So can i upload my cc2650 code directly into cc2640r2f without making any changes(except pin mapping) in CCS setting and in RTOS files.

Hi Pritesh,

The CC2650 and CC2640R2F are not binary compatible so you will need to port your application code the (latest) CC2640R2F SDK. Refer to the migration guides included in the SDK documentation for details.

Hi Fredrik,
I have imported Project Zero from CC2640r2f SDK and compiled in CCS V8.3,it took 98% of Flash of CC2640r2f .we switched to cc2640r2f because of almost double memory than cc2650 but project zero will occupy 98% flash in both cases.why project zero take 98% memory in case of CC2640r2f case.

Hi,

Using CCS 9.0.1 and CC2640R2F SDK 3.10, project_zero (ble3stack) is using 58% of the available flash on my computer. I don't see how you arrived at 98%. Did you reduce the optimization setting for the project?

Please try the menu item View -> Memory Allocation.

Hi,

This is just how it is I'm afraid. You are using the ble5 stack in your case, which because the ROM on the CC2640R2 does not contain BLE 5 content, a lot of content needs to be put in flash.

I'd recommend that you use the blestack (ble 4.2 compliant) projects instead, or move to the CC2642 device.
