CC1352P: CC1352P: Reasons for TX power loss in feed section

Hi,

I have made a board of CC1352P in 2.4GHz freq band configuration. The PA is also configured for 2.4GHz. The TX power on my board is measured as 19.2dbm whereas as per datasheet it should be 19.5dbm. My setup has a micro UFL on board, connected via micro UFL cable which is further connected via SMA cable to Spectrum analyser. Please advice can the joint between these cables can lead to this TX power loss? if not then what coudl be the cause.

- 0.3 dB is within measurement inaccuracy
- A number in the datasheet is normally an average value, meaning that you will get boards that have higher and lower output power than given in the datasheet.
- A micro UFL cable has a loss that has to be taken into consideration. Have you calculated the loss from the connector to the spectrum?

Thanks TER. All the losses of the in line things were accounted for and then only the figure of 19.2dBm was concluded. These values have been observed on 2 boards and If the observation is within the measurement permissible inaccuracy then I will validate it on 3 more boards and then conclude

How do you know the exact loss from the connector to the SMA?

Btw, do you do your measurements on the same voltage as stated in the datasheet? Since the 20 dBm PA is biased directly from VDDS you will have some variation of output power vs frequency.

HI,

I feed 3.3V to my board. The datasheet mentions of VDD of 3volts. I did test it for the entire band and found that the variation in the TX power was from 19.15 to 19.22dbm. I am considering the micro UFL to SMA cable loss as per the datasheet of that cable. For the SMA cable to spectrum analyser i measured it using SG.

For the micro UFL and SPDT Switch also i am considering as per thier respective datsheet.

So basically you are trusting that both the switch and the micro UFL cable has exactly the same attenuation as in the datasheet to check the datasheet numbers on CC1352P?
