Hi Champs,

Could you please clarify CC2564mod BLE mode power consumption ?

I would like to confirm how this consumption improve to BLE mode.

We have only this information. However, CC2640 or some BLE only device mentioned "standby current", "RX/TX current"

We would like to compare this information.

Could you please confirm this value ? If this value is not characterized , do you satisfy BLE consumption requirement and tell us what is this number ?

Could you elaborate more on what data you are looking to get? Are you wanting a comparison of Bluetooth Classic vs. Bluetooth Low energy, or a comparison of CC2640 vs CC2564?

Unfortunately, the power consumption summaries for both devices don't line to allow for a easy power consumption comparison. Our C2640R2 Device is our newer BLE only chip, and is positioned as a low power BLE solution. This solution should be lower power than the Dual mode device, CC2564.

Hi,

Could you please tell us this CC2564 BLE rough current range ?

I understand this detail range. However, I would like to know rough range.

For CC26xx , RX/TX is around 6mA, Is this 20-30mA ?

Kz777,

If you put the CC2564 device in sniff mode, it helps reduce the overall power consumption but it is not comparable with BLE. Unlike the CC26xx devices, the CC2564 will continuously TX/RX.

So in sniff mode, the master's current consumption is 169uA (as shown in the table you provided) when there is no data being TX/RX. When it is TX/RX, the average current consumption is stated as "Continuous Transmission" under Section 4.5.1 of the CC2654MODx datasheet; 107mA max for GFSK and 112.5mA max for EDR.
