CC2640R2F: BOOSTXL-AOA: Enable RTLS AoA mode as default without master node connection

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Hi,

I'm aware that in latest SDK (3.10.00.15), RTLS requires master node to scan and connect with slave node for passive node to track.

For AoA setup, it also requires host manger to send AoA params and enable commands to both master/passive nodes to trigger CTE processing.

However, it seems not realistic for real applications:

1. If every target (slave node) we want to locate requires a connection with master node, what's the limit that one master node could support?

2. Is there connectionless configuration can be used to enable AoA raw mode in passive (receiver) and slave (sender) as default like previous SDK (e.g. 2.30.00.28) ?

Thanks~

  • Hi Aaron,

The idea is that you can increase the the amount of passives, not slaves. We currently do not support connection-less AoA, but might be considered for future updates, It has not been prioritized since it's not as secure as connection based AoA.
