Customer engineers encountered some problems when testing Bluetooth CC2640 BLE RF performance with CWM500 instruments. They had two questions to consult.
1) Customers now use CWM500 instruments. When testing with debugging tools, they do not know how to set adv Address correctly, because this setting has a great impact on frequency offset.
2) The default peramble type in the tool is 010101, but there is no peramble type in the instrument corresponding to the customer, and the menu is gray and I don't know how to set it.

Hi Jerry,

When testing with Bluetooth PHY testers, you cannot use SmartRF Studio. Instead you must program the IC with SW which allows the test instrument to control it through HCI commands over UART.

The HostTest SW example can be used for this purpose.

Hi Jerry,

You can use HostTest from the latest SDK.

I am not sure I understand your last question, but the only way to use a BT tester is with embedded SW running on the chip. You can do stand-alone RF testing with SmartRF Studio, but not to a BT tester.
