Hi E2E,

Good day!

I am posting on behalf of one of our customer.
He is asking if TI have a bluetooth chipset that works with MFI 3.0 ?

Thanks in advance.

  • I suppose you can use CC26X2R which you can refer to SIMPLELINK-SDK-PLUGIN-FOR-HOMEKIT

  • Hi YK,

    Thanks for the prompt response!

I'll notify you for any feedback from our customer as soon as possible.

  • Hi YK,

    Good day.

I just got a feedback from our customer and he mentioned that they are building a headphone and not a home kit and that they are using a Bluetooth Classic not BLE, so he don't think that any of those links will be useful because it is for either WIFI or BLE.

Is BLE and Bluetooth classic uses the same library?
    Appreciate your support on this.

    Thanks a lot!

  • BLE and Bluetooth classic are different thing. If your customer uses Bluetooth Classic, the chip should be CC2564 not CC26xx series and the Bluetooth Classic software would run on another host MCU.

  • Hi Art,

There are MFi add-ons available for some of the TI dual-mode Bluetooth stack SDK releases. You can find more details on the following selection guide.

These add-ons were tested with the 2.0C version of the co-processor (MFi chip) at the time of release. The necessary drivers for the port are provided as source code in these add-ons. If the customer requires help with porting to the newer 3.0 co-processor chip, we have couple of 3rd party partners that can help.
