RTOS/CC2650: total successful connection count

Hi, I am developing a custom BLE applications in which I added my own service. I want to monitor total successful connections till date whenever I access the read value in characteristics. Do we have any built in variable for this? or I will have to develop my own counter which updates a global variable

Hi,

You will have to develop your own counter. We do not have such a variable, but it's not hard to do. Everytime you receive a connection established event, just increment the counter. Keep in mind that you must make sure the counter doesn't overflow.

Yeah . I did the same. But what steps should I take to prevent it from overflowing

Parth,

An if statement to make sure it doesn't exceed whatever data type maximum you are using. If you make it a uint16_t or even 32 bits i would be shocked if you ever hit the max of the variable in it's lifetime unless you're disconnecting and disconnecting thousands of times.
