LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: When connected to my laptop via USB, is recognized as a following device "Stellaris device firmware update".

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello Ti,

I've bought two launchxl-cc26x2r1 evm's. one is working just fine. the other is not unfortunately.

  • when i plug in the board no program detects the board (uniflash 5.0.0, all cloud tools, flash programmer 2) .
  • The green LED next to the XDC110 IC does not light up.

I do however see a removable device called "Stellaris firmware update" pop up when i connect the board.

What can i do?

Best regards,

Karsten Schoenmaker

  • According to the feedback I have received from the tools team so far the launchpad that is not responding should not have passed production test. Please contact customer service and ask for a replacement. Refer to this E2E thread since they normally require that technical support (E2E) has looked into the case.

  • Hi Karsten,

It could be that the board can be recovered by programming the Firmware of the XDC110 IC. This can be done with the "xdsdfu" tools. You will typically find this under the following folder: C:\ti\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110 after installing UniFlash or CCS. There is also a "readme" file that explain how to use the tool.

    Regards,

    Øyvind

  • Hello Øyvind,

I have flashed the Firmware with "xdsdfe" and it appears to be working (red and green led next to the XDC110 IC) .

I will check if programs run normally .

    tnx for the advise.

  • Hello TER,

Thanks for the reply however it seems that the firmware update (suggested by Øyvind)  with the "xdsdfu" tool has brought the board back to life.

I will check if it works as it should.

    Best regards,
