SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK: 2.40: Simple Central not able to connect to 2 Simple Peripheral Device?

Hi,

I am trying to connect 2 CC2640R2F Launchpad with Simple Peripheral Program to 1 CC2640R2F Launchpad Simple Central. From what I read I can connect 8 BLE Devices to Simple Central. But when I try the Simple Central what happens I connect to the first CC2640R2F Launchpad. I need to disconnect the first CC2640R2F Launchpad, if I want to connect to the second CC2640R2F Launchpad. This does not demonstrate multiple BLE Peripheral Devices connected to 1 Simple Central Device.

Do you have example code or program that able to connect 1-8 BLE Peripheral Devices to 1 Simple Central Device?

Hi Markel,

Have you attempted to connect two peripheral devices without disconnecting from the first?

Hi Joakim,

When 1 Simple Peripheral device is connected to Simple Central, I browse the options and there is no option to connect another device. The other option is disconnect.

For this application, please use the multi_role project (in stead of simple central).

Hi Marie H.

I have tested multi_role project and is exactly what I need. But I read if it functions as a central only maximum of 3 BLE Connections can be done as mentioned at ble_user_config.h

So if I want to connect 8 BLE peripherals to multi role central device I would need to use CC2652 which has bigger RAM?

Hi Markel,

For CC2640R2 how many connections can be supported will be a question of memory - flash and RAM. I think can use the multi_role project as a starting point and start stripping it for code you are not using. Some useful tips are found here:
