CC2640: Download to firmware to cc2640 but cannot find ble device

We produced 1300 pieces PCBA, but found 8 pieces PCBA cannot find the ble device. But when we download firmware to the cc2640 again, its can work fine.

1. Download firmware to cc2640 first time, flash Page 29 memory area 0xFF

flash programmers always warning >Create XBAL object failed: Debug interface is locked.

2. Download firmware to cc2640 again, flash Page 29 memory area initialized success.

So Can you help me to analyze what happened?

Do you use Flash Programmer 2 to download your firmware? If so, do you check "Verify" in your Flash Programmer 2 when you download your firmware?

We have Verified. The device that ble cannot work , flash programmmer2 always warning >Create XBAL object failed: Debug interface is locked.

Do you use long Jtag cable between your XDS110 debugger and your CC2640?

It's about 1m long.

The Jtag cable between your XDS110 debugger and your CC2640 shouldn't be too long. It's recommended to less than 10 cm.

I suggest you to decrease cable between XDS110 and CC2640 to less than 10 cm to test again.

we have produce 1300 pcs, but only 8 pcs have the prolem, and We have verified the firmware.

so I think the cable work fine and we have succeed download the firmware to cc2640.

Do you meet similar problems before?

If you don't think it's cable issue, I don't have further idea. Hope someone from TI will give help.

Hi,

Even though you only see the problem on a limited number of devices, it can still be due to the wire length.

Can you try to shorten the length and see if that helps on the 8 devices?
