Hi,
If you are referencing to the defined symbol POWER_SAVING, this symbol is used for some conditional compilation in TI examples. In some of them, if the symbol POWER_SAVING is defined then the device cannot go in sleep mode. I would advice you to do a simple research in the code of your specific example to see where this symbol is used.
Regarding the function Power_setConstraint, it allows the developer to set constraints to power or not a given power domain during standby, power down and idle modes. You can consult the Power Management User's guide for further details. With that said, I would like to underline that this function is not supposed to be used at the application's level (only at the TI drivers' level).
I hope this will help,

Hi Clément,
Thanks for your reply. In Bluetooth Stack 2.2.3 provided by TI , we are using Simple Peripheral example.
I have following question:
In Simple Peripheral example ,what is the significance of POWER_SAVING?

Hi,
POWER_SAVING is used to perform conditional compilation of your example.
- If the symbol is *not* defined then the device is not allowed to go in standby or power down modes. This configuration facilitates debugging.
- If the symbol is defined then the device can go in standby or power down modes to save energy. The Power driver will handle this.
I hope this will help,

Hi Ankita,
As your question were not related to the first topic of this thread, I have moved it to a second thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth/f/538/t/855568
If the current thread is resolved, please mark it as it :)
