I am trying to implement over the air firmware upgrade using cc2650 launchpad. Can I implement the this using the launchxl-cc2650 board without an external flash chip. I am following the following as an example.

Hey Kanvindu,

I don't think you'll have enough flash space available to perform an on chip oad.

Dear Ammar,

Launchpad cc2650 has an external flash of 1mb. So I don't think memory would be an issue.

Usually, you won't have enough flash space to do on-chip OAD with LAUNCHXL-CC2650 and I would suggest you to do it with external flash chip.

You are correct, the LAUNCHXL-CC2650 does have an external flash module on the dev board.

With that being said, we don't have an example or reference for OTA with contiki. Others (link here) have worked on the reference you've already linked, so I suggest continuing with that.

As you already have an external flash, you'll just need to use our available API's to write the necessary data to/from the external flash.
