CC2640: HCI Command For RED Receiver Block Test

Customer has reviewed http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra536/swra536.pdf but their design does not have provisions for direct access to CC2640 with SmartRF Studio. They want know if they can use HCI commands and if so what are the correct steps/configuration to use.

Hi Lawrence,

In this case I assume that the customer has access to the UART of the device and wishes to use Production Test Mode (PTM) or Direct Test Mode (DTM).

The difference being that PTM embeds production test code into the "normal" firmware of the device, while DTM requires a separate firwmare image.

Since it seems that they don't have JTAG access to the boad, then likely PTM is the best bet.

In both cases there are HCI Commands available that can perform RX test functionality such as HCI_LE_EnhancedRxTestCmd().

The customer will have to own this development.

There is a basic example of how to do so here:

Be aware that the customer must use the right command library that matches the version of the stack they're using. (3.x vs 5)
