CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: Cannot wakeup from shutdown mode

I use the example of project_zero to verify the shutdown mode.

I add this pin table for wakeup button.

};

And I add these code to go to shutdown mode.

After device enter into shutdown mode, I cannot trigger button to wakeup the device.

Could you please help me how the problem can be solved??

Hi Eirik,

The pinShutdown example code works fine.

I use the same shutdown method on project_zero and simple_peripheral_oad_offchip example code, but it didn't work.

Hi all,

I had tried to run the simple_peripheral_oad_offchip example code on LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2.
I only add this code in SimplePeripheral_init function.

  ...
  Power_shutdown(0, 0);
}

The device will enter into shutdown mode after initialized.
Then, I can wake-up the device after pressed button 0 or button 1.

I tried to add shutdown function to simple_peripheral_oad_offchip on LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 in the same way as LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2.
The device cannot wake-up from shutdown mode.

Hello Rock,

How do you verify if the device wakes up?

After it wakes up it will simply go back to shutdown right?

Can you try to disable external flash before you enter sleep?

Hi Eirik,

I checked the device wake-up from uart log.

I think device wake-up failed due to the external flash open fail.

If I commet out "return(FAIL);" in checkImagesExtFlash function, the wake-up function works fine.

In bim_main.c

Does it work if you disable external flash before entering shutdown?

Hi Eirik,

No, I add flash_close() before Power_shutdown(0, 0), the device still cannot wake-up from shutdown mode.

Hello Rock,

The external flash state machine will be reset as standby mode automatically during power up, but after wakeup from shutdown when you have issued flash_close() it might be in Deep Power Down mode. Then chip select (CS) must be toggled to toggled to wake up the device and put it in standby mode. Try to make sure to wake up the device from deep sleep in BIM before the call extFlashOpen is the device wakes up from shutdown.

I am not sure. Did you test my suggestion?

Can you look the external flash device on the two boards to verify if they both are MACRONIX (MX25R8035FZUIL0) or if one are WinBond?
