CC2652R: CC2652 cannot use SmartRF Studio

Hi team,

Customer's PCB use CC2652R. They can use Flash Programmer 2 or Uniflash to flash host_test_app.hex, Read/Write memory, Erase Memory, Read BLE MAC.

However, while using SmartRF Studio, it happen below error. They have done Mass Erase. But still cannot work. Please provide suggestion. Thank you.

As the error message indicate: Is SmartRF Studio the only program open that tries to access the board? Have they closed Flash Programmer 2 and Uniflash?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I have closed the Flash Programmer 2 and Uniflash, because SmartRF Studio 7 is my first execute program after I reboot my laptop.

I also using PuTTY to check (if the COM port is occupied by another program, PuTTY will show the error "Unable to open connection to COMXX").

Got indication from tools that this could be caused by a timing issue between the reset and the TCK signals

Not sure if it's relevant, but how does the connection between the debugger and the DUT look like in this case?

We managed to get the same error message if we didn't connect the reset line. Please check.

Our hardware RD drawn a wrong schematic. CC2652R is working well after make the following changes:

1. Connect the JTAG pin header#10 to CC2652R PIN#35 (RESET_N).
2. Connect CC2652R PIN#47 (X48M_P) to TCXO, PIN#46 (X48M_N) left floating.
