CC2650MODA: Real time BLE application

Hello everyone,

I'm developing a device with 4 gyroscopes. The idea is to send each IMU data to a smartphone using Bluetooth and visualizate in it in "real time". As the device has to have a battery, in a beginning I thought to send the data with BLE using CC2650MODA but now I have doubts due to the data rate. I would like to send 4 short strings (each one with the data of each gyroscope) each 100 ms or even less.

Do you think is possible to get that data rate using CC2650MODA based on Simple_peripheral application?

How often could I send data?

Hello Jorge,

Yes, that should be possible. I recommend the CC2640R2F or CC26x2 which is part of our official simplelink family:

The connection interval has to be between 7.5 ms and 4 s. The chosen interval will affect latency, throughput and power consumption and usually chosen based on considerations of the tradeoff between these values. I suggest you take a look at the training material for our simplelink devices:

Hello Eirik,

Thank you very much for your answer. That solves my doubt about BLE.

In relation to the CC2650MODA, i would like to use that because it is precertified and I didn't know it was a 3rd party module. Is there something important to recommend another microcontroller instead CC2650MODA?
