CC2540EMK-USB: Maximum symmetric key length (encryption)

I don't quite understand. In what context is this key used?

Because these two products are controlled for US export purposes I am looking for an exemption for not having to report these exports to the US Bureau of Industry and Security.

There are reporting exemptions, one being that if the symmetric key length is equal to or below a certain bit size no reporting is required.  I have asked the requestor who ordered this product how it will be used.

My Customer wanted to know what is the maximum symmetric key length (encryption) is for  CC-DEBUGGER and CC2540EMK-USB. Checking the User Guide and tech documents it seems that this information is not available.
