Is IAR EW v7.60 Officially Supported Yet?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Is IAR EW v7.60 officially supported yet?

A number of threads reference the v7.60 version of the platform. However, I have not yet seen an official statement of support.

Can TI comment?

Clearly a number of folks are using it successfully, so I'm not asking here for unofficial reports of success.

Personally, I am hitting a dead end on debug support (yes, even with v7.51M) on Vista64/Amd64. I would like to leap forward, and deal with the idiosynchrasies in the more current IAR platform, once TI blesses it.

A funny note: I am debugging successfully, for now, using my Lenovo IdeaPad (Win7/x86). The IDE is a little hard to use on a tiny screen, but at least I can debug. Another benefit is that I can hold it like a smart phone when showing my prototype BLE product!

  • IAR v7.60 is "unofficially" supported. The projects included with the BLE v1.0 software are all based on IAR v7.51A; however if you open them up using IAR v7.60, they will still work (IAR will ask if you want to convert them; click yes).

When building the project, you may get the following warning: "Warning[w2]: Symbol ?PBANK is redefined in command-line". This is related to the linker command file, and as far as I can tell should not affect the application.

  • I am using 7.60 and I don't had any problem till now except that warning.

    B.

  • Willis, with all due respect, I had to reject your answer. Per your response, though, the correct answer is:

"No, IAR EWB 7.6 is not officially suported by TI for use in development with the CC2540."
