Dear support team,
we would like to design a product using CC2564C plus external Cortex-M4 host MCU. But customer demands AAC decoding for this product.
I need to provide customer my guts feeling what it would take do realize this functionality on TI chip or realize it on competitor chip.
I know that CC2564C does not support AAC codec and also know that most customers are using assisted A2DP with this chip due to simplicity.
But my understanding is, that host MCU could do decoding of raw packets received via HCI and AAC coded is available for certain host platforms supported by TI stack. We are actually doing this on linux systems using BlueZ stack and competitor chips, naturally not a reference to base on for small embedded system...
Please let me know implications of adding AAC decoding on host side:
- how complex do you judge an extension of TI BT stack QDID 85355 on our side to add that functionality ?
- Would you rather suggest to use 3rd party stack instead ?
- would such extension of the TI stack require re-certification or could we still just do end-product listing with reference to QDID 85355 ?
anything I missed ?
thanks and regards,
Christoph
