CC2640: whether CC2640 SPI could support 6-wire

Hi Team,

May I ask whether CC2640 SPI could support 6-wire (Quad SPI: SCLK, CS #, IO0, IO1, IO2, IO3) or does it only support standard SPI communication?

If CC2640 could support 6-wire SPI, is there a requirement to connect IO2, IO3 to a dedicated PIN, or can any GPIO be connected and configured by software?

Hi Amelie,

If you by 6-wire refer to additional CS signals then the answer is no, the hardware itself only support a single IO. What you can do is however to not assign a CS to the HW and instead control these in SW, you then use any (and how many) GPIOs you want.
