Soldering CC2540 issues and what current do I set the power supply to?

I am trying to reproduce the experiment on the software guide pdf for the cc 2540, but when i solder the points, they seem to not hold very well and i spent a good amount of time trying to make them hold. Is there a special type of solder I should use ora special  technique or an alternate option for connecting the power supply. My second question would be should the power supply be set for 3 volts and how many amps? Thank you for your time.

  • Jeremy,

It is manufactured with Pb-free solder, so try to increase the heat while soldering to see if it helps. As for the second question, you normally only set the voltage on the power supply and sometimes the maximum allowed current(for protection). The keyfob does not consume very much a limit of 0.2A should be more than sufficient.

  • Thank you very much for your response. Yea that's exactly what I did about .1 to .2 amps. The solder got a bit tricky, but i think its holding,
