CCS/CC2640R2F: how I add sleep/dealy func. while using ustack BLE, beacon example code

my customer is trying to add sleep function to micro_eddystone_beacon example code.

Could you please guide me on how to add simple sleep functions prefer in ms or in sec?

Hi Shai,

If you have defined POWER_SAVING (defined by default) the device will sleep whenever it's not doing anything else.

If you want to do an action after a certain amount of time you can set up a Clock. Look at e.g. the periodic event in the simple peripheral example.

You can use Task_sleep for delay within a task thread:

// Sleep for 100ms, sys-tick for BLE-Stack is 10us,
// Task sleep is in # of ticks
Task_sleep(10000);

Examples for clocks can be found in the BLE examples.

Thanks for your prompt answer I'll try to use the following value for sleep one sec.


Task_sleep(100000); //sleep 1sec

BTW, I am using a BLE micro-stack based on simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_30_00_28, does it make any difference?

No. It is built on top of TI-RTOS and Task_sleep is a TI-RTOS kernel function.
