CCS/CC2640R2F: error #16004-D - attribute different than one previously seen

Having updated to CCS 10. I'm having related issues. Please see below/attached.

I'm trying to build the example project "rtls_master" for a CC2640R2 device. So far I've tried...

(1) build the hello world example for the CC2640, load and run -> "hello world" appears in the console as expected.

(2) I build import and "rtls_master". All is ok. I try to load this onto the CC2640 target and get the error something like "program falls into a memory region that is not writable".

(3) I go into preferences->general and change the variant from CC2652R1F->CC2640R2F to match my hardware and then get a series of build errors. I included the CC2640 SDK into the project via preferences and disable floating point optimisation as there is another build error here. The build progresses but still having trouble.

What is the workflow for building for a different target? Have I misunderstood something?

Thanks for getting back to me. I've just looked at the release note and it doesn't appear to agree with what you've written in your post. The introduction specifies that the CC2640R2 SDK provides RTLS (copied below). There is no mention also of discontinued support for RTLS anywhere in the document. Please can you clarify what you're referring to?

Finally, if RTLS is not supported on this platform. Please could you suggest a possible alternative - a different dev board/tools perhaps?

Hi Dave,

You can find the information Marie is referring to under the section "What's New" in the release notes. There is also some additional info under the "Upgrade and Compatibility Information" which offers some guidance to regarding our newer devices that still supports this feature:

"As a supplier of Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) solutions with a focus on interoperability and broad market adoption, we recommend to transition from proprietary Real Time Localization Toolbox (RTLS) software examples to the new RTLS software examples based on the Bluetooth 5.1 specification. These examples are included in the SimpleLink™ CC13x2 and CC26x2 software development kit 3.40 or later."

OK. Thanks for pointing me to the right part of the doc. Apologies for not seeing this. So it looks like any of these devies will be good...

So to answer my other question then the CC26X2 dev board would allow me to make progress (http://www.ti.com/tool/LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1).. Looking forward to receiving confirmation here before I go ahead and order any more kit.

In general, yes all the devices listed are supported in the CC13x2 / CC26x2 SDK.

Specifically regarding RTLS Toolbox support, at this time we only offer out-of-box example projects for the CC2652R/CC2642R devices. So to confirm, yes the CC26X2R1 launchpad would allow you to continue evaluating this feature.
