CC2652P: Which example to be used for foot tracker/step tracker application

Part Number: CC2652P

Dear TI,

We need to develop a BLE application for tracking the steps data using motion sensor and FSR array continuously

We also need OAD. For the above requirement which is proper example application to use.

We are confused between, project_zero and simple_peripheral_oad_offchip application.

Could you please guide us in selecting the right application?

Regards,

Shilpa

  • Hi Shilpa,

In your case I would use Simple peripheral as the starting point. This is a relatively simple project with few unecessary code components.

Project Zero is our demo project used to showcase various features so it contains a lot of code you don't need.

You can see the project readme files for more descriptions of their features.

  • HI  Marie ,

    Thanks for the input

We have now used simple peripheral as the reference project for our design.

I am able to communicate TI SimpleLink Starter Android app with our application on TI Launchpad.

I have integrated 'Data Service' profile into simple peripheral application.

I am able to send data from Android device and process the same in our application.

But if I want TX data from Launchpad to the android device, I am not  able to make out the API to be used using data service profile.

Could you please let me know, which API to be used for transmitting the data from Eval kit to the Android device using Data Service profile?

    Regards,

    Shilpa

  • Hi Shilpa,

From the simple peripheral application you can set the value of the characteristic with the DataService_SetParameter() API defined in data_service.h. Then you can read the new value from the master side with a read command.

If you want simple peripheral to send a notification every time the value of the characteristic changes, you can add notify as a property of the characteristic. You can read how to do this in the SimpleLink Academy BLE Custom Profile lab:
