SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK: Setting cc2640r2f at different Frequencies( 2.402GHz, 2.441GHz, 2.480GHz)

As far as i know, Smart RF studio is used to directly control the radio over JTAG. But do we have any other workarounds which suggest the changes only in simple_peripheral code for setting up different frequencies !

Meaning that you are using the BLE stack?

What is the purpose of the test since the BLE stack uses it's given channels. 

Purpose: Client want performance reports at each of the frequencies.They also check the radiation at these frequencies.

In the code we are using default power value.

Can we vary the frequency by choosing the suitable tx power using the following macros? If yes, Please suggest me the necessary modifications for these frequencies(2.402GHz, 2.441GHz, 2.480GHz ).

How to decide tx power for these frequencies respectively.

Apologies for the delay. 

I don't think it's possible to select a specific tx power for a single frequency, at least I haven't heard about it before. What test do you want to perform that would require you to do this? Can't you test with one tx power setting first for all frequencies and then test again for all settings that you want to try?

I figured out that no need to change the tx power. And i want to do "2.4.1.1 Regulatory Approval Testing" as it is serving my requirement.

Got to know that HCI_EXT_ModemTestTxCmd , this command sets frequency to required one. But, where to exactly place this command.

Please, help me out in guiding which code should i take to do this test !

Please, help me out in regarding following concerns !

1) As mentioned in the document https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra601c/swra601c.pdf?ts=1592589005375 used HCI_EXT_ModemTestTxCmd to configure the radio for static receiver and transmitter operation at certain frequencies.I placed this command in my simple peripheral project controlled by timer. I could get the return status as '0' (HCI_SUCCESS). But i am facing difficulty to analyze the test report. 

Can you please, help me out in understanding how to test this.

2) Also, have done suggested workaround saying to consider HostTest project and place the HCI command in that project. The main concern is again test report says no waveforms. Should i add any additional functionality to this project or else what should be the expected test report.

I could get waveforms at specific frequency by setting it in the test application using the procedure you have suggested. But the problem is i could get when iam using cc2640r2f launchpad but i could not see the waveforms when iam using my device. 

When it is the same chip cc2640r2f , why iam unable to get with my device. Is there anything to modify in firmware !

Please, consider this as emergency ! As we are almost near to the schedule.

Did you end up using host_test or the PTM mode?

You would have to modify host_test to work with the pinout of your board. Host_test comes out of the box to run on a LaunchPad, but if you have not made any modifications to it, and the pinout of your system is not the same, you would need to make the necessary modifications to make it work.

I have taken simple peripheral example from latest sdk version and done the changes suggested by you in the below link to keep the device in PTM mode.Included the HCI command to set the frequency at required.

When tested this by flashing on launchpad it is giving waveforms as expected, but with the device no waveforms observed(actually device seems to be dead).

My concerns:

1) Is there anything that is affecting when i am using latest sdk versions. As my production firmware is developed using sdk 2.30.00.28

2) If there are some modifications to do in the code to make work on device,Can you help me out telling what are those !

3) Can i get some link to download simple peripheral example from CC2640 sdk 2.30.00.28 , as iam unable to find it in resource explorer.

4) I never observed any difference when it comes to programming CC2640 in launchpad and device previously. There are functionality difference observed w.r.t PinOuts . But surprisingly here not even getting any waveforms.

Previously, your input helped me a lot. Please, suggest me the things to work on this too !
