CCS/CC2640: Running BLE Without a 32 kHz Crystal

Part Number: CC2640

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I use the internal RC for the BLE peripheral devices instead of the 32 kHz crystal,and it occurs some problems.

It cannot be woken up in standby mode when I  use both external IO and RTC.But it can be woken up with IO in shutdown mode.

What is the problem?

The problem seemed to be resolved when I made the following changes in the CCFG profile:

#ifndef SET_CCFG_MODE_CONF_VDDR_CAP
//#define SET_CCFG_MODE_CONF_VDDR_CAP 0x3A // Unsigned 8-bit integer representing the min. decoupling capacitance on VDDR in units of 100nF
#define SET_CCFG_MODE_CONF_VDDR_CAP 0x00
#endif

There are very few instructions on VDDR_CAP in the manual, Can you give more details about it?

What parameters will be affected by the VDDR_CAP value ?

Regards,

Kevin

    I have never seens a case where it has been required to adjust VDDR_CAP. If you see a difference if you select a different value here it indicate that you have not followed the reference design. Would you be able to post the part of the schematic that shows what is connected to VDDR?
