CC2564C: Firmware update procedure and compatibility with Bluetooth 5.2

Hi,

I was wondering about the firmware update procedure for the CC2564C and its possible compatibility with Bluetooth 5.2, especially LE Audio feature and EATT layer.

Is it possible to update the CC2564C firmware via UART with HCI commands and a binary file ? If it is, what would be the procedure ? And would it be possible in a near future to update the CC2564C with a TI firmware that would make the CC2564C compatible with the new Bluetooth standard 5.2, at least theoretically ? Or is the component already 5.2 ready as it is ?

CC2564C controller is component certified for BT5.1. Please check the QDID at https://launchstudio.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/102416

LE audio is an not supported and it is not a mandatory feature for BT5.1. Coming to updating to BT5.1. Yes, it is a firmware update. Host application downloads the firmware, when the CC2564C controller is initialized.

So am I to understand that the CC2564C component is not and can't be, won't be, Bluetooth 5.2 compatible ? And if a firmware update is indeed possible, what would be the exact procedure or where can I find it ?

Well, it is currently BT 5.1 certified. The firware (BTS file) is downloaded from the host processor (where BT stack runs) during controller initialization i.e after a controller reset.
