CC2564MODA: I am Getting Stack Init Failed: -4 using MSP432

Hi,

Out of the box I am getting Stack Init Failed error. I checked all the start guides and my jumpers seems to be correct but probably are not.

I am using MSP432 p401r launch pad with Boost-CC2564MODA board.

Stack Version: D:\ti\Connectivity\CC256X BT\CC256x MSP432 Bluetopia SDK\v4.2.1.1

I compiled SDK just fine and downloaded MSP432 image using CCS debugger. I have not made any changes to the code or the project file.

I have also tried the SPPDemo project as this one was used in one of the Start up Guides and I still get the same Stack Init Failed : -4 error.

Hi Ozzy,

Are you using the EM Adapter Boosterpack to connect the two boards together (MSP and CC2564)? I just tested this with your same SW setup and I don't get a problem.

the customer is using the MSP launchpad with the BOOST-CC2564MODA board which does not need that EM adapter in the middle.

I see.

Ozzy, try using the CC2564C SDK instead of the CC256X version as outlined in the requirements section of the BOOST MODA quick start guide.

Also make sure your jumper settings match figure 4.

Ozzy,

The CC2564MODA board actually uses the Version B of the CC2564 chipset.

So, the right version of the SDK you need for the EVM platforms is here:

https://www.ti.com/tool/CC256XMS432BTBLESW

(Installs as the 4.0.3 version)

For your custom board (that uses the C version, you still need the 4.2.1 version)

With that version of the SDK (4.0.3), the CC2564MODA + MSP432P401R Launchpad combo should work fine.
