CC2541: Programming a CC2541

Hello, I am working with a team hoping to use the CC2541 in a device that will communicate data to a phone. In terms of actually connecting to and programming the CC2541 it appears like some attachment must be added to the circuit board to connect to a computer and code the CC2541. Our device is very space limited and I was wondering if there was any way to preemptively code the bluetooth module before attaching the mcu to our circuit? Once our device is assembled we would have no reason to have to reprogram the mcu. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can try to contact 3rd party such as Hi-Lo systems to program preemptively code into your CC2541 SOC.

For low volumes you can also make a "Programming board" where you place the chip in a socket for programming and then mount the chip on the PCB after flashing.

Hi Ter, by any chance do you have any resources or designs you could link me to for help creating a "programming board"? How could I create this socket for holding the cc2541? What are some possible concerns with this method?

No, we don't have any design/ board for this.

The main concern is to find a good socket that provide reliable connection to avoid loosing contact with the chip in the middle of a flash process.
