Hello,

I am still having trouble with the CC2650MODA. For flashing, I use the CC2650 LaunchPad and for testing the Simple Peripheral example.

I managed to get the code flashed and running on one CC2650MODA. Then I connected a second CC2650MODA the same way and it does not work at all.

It seems I cant connect to the device, even when I connect everything the same way as with the first CC2650MODA.

I measured every soldering point and every pin. They do all get the right signal.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Hans,

I have assigned an expert to help you with this. Have you tried to perform a full mass erase using the Flash Programmer 2 tool?

Hi M-W,

thank for the info. I have installed SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 and tried to connect. This is what I got:

Connecting the other CC2650MODA worked fine. Is it a hardware problem??

I have a question about Flash Programmer 2:

When I have a new MODA chip and connect the JTAG TMS and TCK, the VDD and GND to the XDS110 of the LaunchPad. Then I should see the CC2650 in Flash Programmer 2 under the XDS110.

Yes or No?

It could be, is it a new device or have you previously tried to load any firmware on to it?

Hi M-W,

I never managed to load anything to this device, nor did I ever get a connection to it. So you can imagine it as a new device, but I have tried to load firmware to it.

Should it be visible in Flash Programmer 2? What I see is "? Unknown". The same as when nothing is connected to the XDS110.

It should pop up in flash programmer 2.

Could you post a picture on how you have connected the module to the debugger?

Nothing pops up in flash programmer 2. Not with the new CC2650MODA.

These images are how I connected the first, working CC2650MODA. I did the same with the socond one, which doesnt work.

At this point I start to believe, that the second CC2650MODA is just broken.

Don't connect like this. The module should be mounted on a PCB. A breadboard adds a lot of capacitance that will impact the signaling.

Do you really think mounting to a PCB will fix the issue? It worked for my first CC2650MODA on the breadboard and I can still see the first one in Flash Programmer 2.

I even tried checking the signal with an oszilloscope, but the signal was fine.
