It discussed the issue the issue they are having.

Would like to understand how this is solved the remote control for absolute volume setting.

  • Hi Lawrence,

    Please explain the customer setup.

    1. Are they using the A3DP sink demo like in the link you provided?
    2. Do they get this issue with iOS and Android?
    3. Also, do they get any callback events in the application when they try to change the volume?

  • Jesus,

They are using the A3DP Sink demo have replicated the issue on both custom board and TI EVM+MCU.  The issue is only with iOS.

    Lawrence

  • Any update?

  • Hi Lawrence,

I think the customer is dealing with an iOS limitation. The E2E you referenced mentions iOS does not support pass through commands for volume control which is what the customer is trying to use when testing volumeUp and volumeDown in the SendRemoteControlCommand function of the demo. I'm not experienced in this but it seems there is two methods for volume control. 1. pass through command and 2. absolute volume control. I think iOS supports absolute volume control but I'm no expert. I recommend the customer reviews Apple documentation and maybe check other forums to understand how iOS handles this.
