CCS/CC2652P: OAD Download Failed using BTool

Hello Team,

OAD is failing in our custom board which is CC2652P based design

SDK Used: "simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_10_00_78"

Case-1: With default 'simple_peripheral_oad_offchip_CC13X2P_2_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs' application with our pin configuration

OAD is working only with BTool and OAD successful in BTool but target not booting with newly downloaded image

Case-2: Customized simple_peripheral_oad_offchip_CC13X2P_2_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs application

With android and ios application not working, with BTool we could able to proceed out of 775 write block number 536 block written success afterwards OAD failing

I also wanted to verify that you flashed the bim before flashing the simple peripheral FW.

Hi Jenny,

We are flashing the BIM before flashing simple peripheral app

We are using FRAM instead of SPI flash in our design which is 4Mbit(512KB) in size

Hi Jenny,

Can you please confirm OAD is supported with FRAM external memory on "simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_10_00_78" SDK platform with "simple_peripheral_oad_offchip_CC13X2P_2_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs" application?

Hi Shilpa,

Taking a look at the log and screenshot you've provided, it appears that the errors start after receiving an OAD_FLASH_ERR which is a flash function failure. After searching through the OAD.c file, it appears that this error occurs whenever there are issues using the external flash driver interface such as writeFlashPg, eraseFlashPg, etc. This driver is tested with flash external memory so it does appear to me that the errors you are seeing is originating from using the external flash driver to write to external FRAM.
