Dear TI Support,

I follow the SimpleLink Academy (4.30.01.00) to study RTLS Toolbox AOA. I have 3 LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 and 1 BOOSTXL-AOA set on passive device and using simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_30_00_54 SDK. I want to set my device to [Option 2] which is Only Passive device provide AOA measures. However, I cannot set my rtls_master file like this rtlsConfig.rtlsCapab = (rtlsCapabilities_e)(RTLS_CAP_RTLS_MASTER), it will warn me ==Warring! One of the devices not supporting AoA functionality==. And if I keep the file unchanged, I will get a csv file with both master and passive samples in it.

My question is how can I set my device to Only Passive device provide AOA measures?

Navigate to [Option 2] Only the Passive device provides the AoA measures to demonstrate what you are attempting to configure.

Hi Jenny

I do follow the guide and flashed launchpads with configured code.

In visual demo RTLS UI:

It seems AoA function not working properly.

In non-visual demo rtls_aoa_iq_with_rtls_util_export_into_csv.py:

All I want is getting a csv file only has passive samples.What should I do?

Hi Lin,

Thank you for verifying this method and providing more information on it. Can you try performing the following test of disabling the master node I/Q data in the script? To do this, modify aoa_sampling_enable to be 0 as detailed by the following post:

Thank you very much for your help.

I got a csv file with only passive samples, but can you tell me why there are 512 samples per packet? Shouldn't it be 624?

Hi Lin,

I'm glad that solution worked for you. This is due to the fact that you are disabling getting I/Q samples from master and instead getting it from the passive device. As seen in the following link (https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/content/simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_30_00_54/docs/ble5stack/ble_user_guide/doxygen/ble/html/group___a_o_a.html), the AOA_RES_MAX_SIZE which is set to 512 determines the data size at maximum resolution for the RTLS passive device.
