    Dajon,

    As you can see in the CC2640 page, in the Similar products you might be interested in note, the CC2640R2 "...offers more available flash (128KB) (because part of the BLE) stack is in ROM."

    From the software perspective, CC2640 uses our BLE Stack v2.2.5. The CC2640R2 uses SimpleLink CC2640R2 SDK.

    From the hardware perspective, CC2640 offers three packages, compared to two on the newer CC2640R2. Please compare the overview page in their respective datasheets.
