Hi,

I want to work with MSP430 and CC2560 (PAN1315). Sample codes using Bluetooth stack from Mindtree.

Can we use PAN1315 without any kind of Bluetooth stack, for example as a Serial Cable replacement? i do not want to use stack because code size is very high, nearly 110Kbs.

In theory, yes.

It might, however, violate existing laws regarding duty cycle or usage of the frequencies and may even trigger lawsuits for disturbing existing bluetooth networks.

So while you can do it, do it on your own risk.

Hello Mehmet,

Yes, you can use the PAN1315 with any BT stack and any host. But you get a huge integration advantage when using the PAN1315 with the existing solution. The MSP430BT5190 has 256KB flash, do you see a limitation to fit your application and the BT stack? BTW, there is a new release coming with less RAM and Flash consumption.

it seems PAN1315 must be used with BT stack software.

but in example , software uses FreeRTOS, should it be used with BT stack or not?

Yes, the PAN1315 requires a BT Stack to operate. You may refer to http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/PAN1315EMK_User_Guide for more information.

Regarding your second question, the existing BT stack requires a scheduler and that's the reason for the freeRTOS. Keep in mind that freeRTOS and BT stack are already integrated into the solution.
