CC2541: Simple BLE peripheral project in BLE 5.0

Hi Team,

We have a customer using CC2541 supporting BLE 4.0. Now he wants to migrate his project to BLE 5.0. Do you have a simple BLE peripheral project in BLE 5.0?

Hi Danilo,

The CC2541 only supports BLE 4.0 features.

If the customer wants to keep BLE 4.0 features, but qualify under BLE 5.0 (not changing anything in their application still), then they would need to be using the latest 1.5.0.16 SDK.

Hello Ammar,

I'm using the CC2541 in BLE4.0 qualified version. I'm using the SimpleBLEperipheral project example which has been a little bit modified.

Regarding the bluetooth SIG depreciation, I'm obliged to move to the version qualified for 5.0.

So the goal for me was to find the same example but 5.0 compliant ( I believe it is only some libraries which have been modified, no?), then copy and paste my file inside this new project, should it be ok?

How to test the module it is clear for me I have prepared the module for it.

Hey Thomas,

Correct, if you update your project to the latest 1.5.0.16 SDK, you can then requalify for BLE version 5.0.

I would start with our example in the new SDK and port over your project changes as you mentioned.

Just I have one issue Ididn't find your example in the new SDK, or maybe I do not have the last SDK.

Please is it possible for you to give me the link to the new SDK, to be sure to be up to date. then the link to the example?

My apologies, the latest SDK is actually v1.5.1.1, available here.

The project is available in BLE-CC254x-1.5.1.1\Projects\ble\SimpleBLEPeripheral.
