BOOSTXL-AOA: Imprecise measurement results

Hi,

My customer did AoA tests with LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 and BOOSTXL-AOA.
The software is SDK rtls_master/slave and they followed below RTLS Toolbox.

Customer used “AOA_MODE_RAW” and AOA was calculated on PC.
(customer confirmed these PC calculation results were aligned with results obtained with “AOA_MODE_ANGLE”)

These results were not accurate as described in below Getting Started Guide.

I will send you customer’s results by separate message.
Customer wants to know the reason of imprecision results and any ideas for improvement.

Hi Koichiro,

Did the customer do the measurement in an anechoic chamber or in an uncontrolled environment?

It is important to understand that the example project offered by Texas Instruments does not filter multipath. For an application in uncontrolled environments, advanced algorithms might be required to improve the quality of the measurements.
